Pouring the Foundation for the Temporary Care Cottage...

This morning started with an old Soviet era tractor going back and forth on our property moving sand and gravel ready to mix cement. Rather than hauling dozens of wheelbarrow loads of the stuff, we opted to pay a retired old gentleman in our village about $20 to move everything in his old tractor.

Then this afternoon, working till almost dark (which is now around 4:20 PM), the builders mixed cement and began pouring the foundation for the new "Temporary Care Cottage." This facility will one day serve either social services children in need of temporary shelter or orphanage graduates while they go to trade school.

The facility will include a living room area, kitchenette, bathroom and bedroom for 3-4 people.
