Rescue Shelter - Installation of Septic Tank

With the new Rescue Shelter scheduled to open in July, most of the construction is done, but bathrooms still cannot function due to a lack of a place for the dirty water to go.  Today, we began the installation of the Septic System.  A 3,000 liter septic tank with a 150 meter leach field with 3 drain pipes.  Yesterday involved a tremendous amount of digging (praising God for sand!) and today involves the delivery of gravel, installation of drain pipes and then the filling in of the pit.

The septic tank is covered up and the leach field
is smooth and level on a steep incline.
Now the gravel!
After installing 6 other septic tanks, we have FINALLY
learned to use plywood boards to create an incline
to push the gravel into the pit.
