Last week, we received a phone call from the orphanage director in Ivankiv (about a 10 minute drive from the camp). The director asked if we would be willing and able to take 3 orphans for the entire summer as they had no where to go. Traditionally, orphanages send kids away to camp in summers so that the orphanage staff can take time off and necessary renovations can be made before the new school year starts.
For the kids in the Ivankiv orphanage, most of them have some relative (grandmother or someone) who is willing to take them back on a temporary basis for a few weeks. Additionally, many are lucky and are able to be hosted by families in Italy and Spain. However, this summer, there were three who were unable to go anywhere.
So, we are providing temporary care for Vanya, Nastya and Kolya till early August. Please keep them in your prayers as we minister to these young teens.
