Week #5: Taking a Moment to Make a Huge Impact...

This week, we are hosting 30+ social services kids from our region. Many of these kids are new to our ministry, but a few are a part of our "Sasha Project" outreach. One girl, Aziza, is a favorite of Jenny's to go and visit. Aziza has cerebral palsy and has a hard life. In addition to her physical limitations, her mother is an alcoholic and often is drunk. Her mother loves her, but with all that is going on, she gets lost in her bottle sometimes as a way to escape the struggles around her.

Aziza did not come to camp last year because her mom was afraid of how she would handle it. She is here this week, but a camp ground covered in sand is a challenge! However, Sergei, our co-worker (and many others) are seeing to it that Aziza is treated like a Queen this week. During group games that require lots of running, Aziza is loaded up into a wheelbarrow with a river mattress and is pushed all over camp so she can also play. Taking a moment to make a huge impact!

to see if she is the person she has to find
during the counselor hunt.

Aziza with a huge smile during her "run" around the camp!
