One of our local saw mills has delivered 5 dump truck loads of wood over the 3 weeks. This is the scrap taken from the sides of trees during the milling process. Some of it is extremely thick and some is nothing more than the thickness of kindling. As we have constructed the road, we have sorted through the wood and what was not strong enough for the road, we have been cutting into foot long pieces ready to use this winter.
Both the directors cottage and the Main Lodge will be heated using a Polish wood burning stove system. This system is outside in a seperate little building and uses a bundle of wood aboutthree times a day. It slow burns and water running through pipes are heated in the core of the stove. That water is then moved through a pipe and radiator system throughout the buildings.
Here are the guys cutting wood for winter. So far, about 4 cords of wood have already been cut and stacked.
